Our Approach

Wee Flowers. Big Responsibility

Castlescreen Farm is not a big commercial farming operation.  We're small and we're proud of being small and perfectly formed. We are in conversion to Certified Organic.

We're a family farm with a clear focus on sustainability and so we take a

regenerative approach to looking after every inch of every field for the welfare of our animals and for the long term benefit of our planet.

With all Castlescreen produce we know that the incredible flavour on your plate starts with how we look after our soil.

We are a Regenerative Farm and that means we take a conservation and rehabilitation approach to land management. We focus on regenerating topsoil, increasing biodiversity, improving water cycle and enhancing the ecosystem.  Everything we do to increase the health and vitality of the soil makes for a higher quality grass on which to feed our Dexters and sheep. Good soil also diminishes erosion and run off, leading to improved water quality on the farm.  We also recycle as much farm waste as possible, adding composted waste to up our nutrient intake.

Castlescreen Farm is committed to doing its part in fighting the climate crisis by pulling carbon from the atmosphere and storing it in the ground. We are certified by the Pasture Fed Livestock Association. Ensuring our beef and lamb are raised 100% on pasture, 100% of the year, WITHOUT any fertilisers or pesticides.
