Frying steaks from our 100% grass fed Dexter beef is cut from a variety of muscles but is often from the thick flank. It is cut thinly (about 1cm thick) and so needs to be cooked quickly to retains its succulence. As the name suggests it is best cooked in a large hot frying pan for about a minute on each side or a little less if you want them rare. A great cut for a meal in a hurry and ideal for steak baguettes or salads.

Castlescreen Dexter Farm is certified by the Pasture Fed Livestock Association ensuring our Dexter cattle are raised only on pasture, 100% of the year, WITHOUT any artificial fertilisers or pesticides. The grass diet produces flavourful fats that are also healthier and meat that is naturally high in valuable nutrients that include zinc and iron, phosphorous, potassium, and sodium. Our Dexter beef is also high in beta-carotene, vitamin E, catalase, glutathione, and superoxide dismutase, which are all good anti-oxidants.
